![]() ![]() ![]() I may be wrong, but you just made the point for modernizing systems. More often its is about avoiding trouble. ![]() Modernizing your systems is not always about adding value. Pretty sure these companies can't handle the massive price tag that comes from losing all their data. Any company that doesn't wish to spend the money to cover their behind, gets exactly what they pay for. We have another web application that JUST finally told us we can use IE11, we had GPO's out to block IE updates to keep people on 9 for the last 2 years because the company could not get their act in gear, and we pay for yearly support.Įven something as simple as modern day browser support companies seem to not think is important and it almost holds companies ransom because with out those core tools the company can not work, so they are forced to stay back on old, less supported systems. One client i work with still has a single AS400 system running for some old accounting data they need because they don't want to spend the money to get into modern times with a newer system. There are companies that simply can not afford the massive price tag companies will charge for a new version of their software that offers no real benefit over what they run now, which is unfortunate. MS released Windows 10 in 32bit for this very reason realizing that companies still have a lot of older software that will not run on 64bit, even though 99% of 32bit apps emulate fine on a 64bit OS. 64bit is no more secure than 32bit in the end.
